new flower tea blend: lavander and oolong/pu’er tea

Shu The Tea House get a special guest– Karen, she is a lavender flower farmer in the US and it’s really a wonderful journey to blend the tea with their organic Lavender…  She brought the Lavender that grow by herself and offer me as gift. I blend it with two different tea and we tasted 4 infusions for each:

I start to understand, this little violet flower is so powerful and energy. for the first infusion, the tea taste is more strong and obvious than the flower, then start from the second one, lavender starts to show her power and become dominating…  we tried several different proportion, then we decide to go with 1:6 flower:tea in order to respect the balance of this blend and didn’t let one to totally cover the taste of the other…

We also respect one principle during this flower blend: the tea should always be the main element, the flower scent is good, but only as decoration and complementary…
